Wheatgrass – What is it?

Wheatgrass is the young shoots, usually about 10 days old, from the wheat seed, often a hard winter wheat variety.

It was rediscovered by Dr. Ann Wigmore in the 1940s when she uncovered its amazing health and healing benefits and began to help people get well from chronic disorders using Wheatgrass.  You can find out more about her story at: http://annwigmore.com/ or at: http://www.annwigmore.org/.

Wheatgrass is juiced in a masticating or an auger press juicer to extract its powerful green juice.  One 30ml / 1oz shot (standard shot glass) of wheatgrass is nutritionally equivalent to about 1 kilo of leafy green vegetables.

No wonder Wheatgrass is fast becoming the nutritional powerhouse of the 21st Century, from the sunny shores of Melbourne to downtown Los Angeles.

Why is it so good for us?

  • It is a nutritionally dense food containing every vitamin science has found and 97 of the 102 minerals.
  • It has the highest concentration of chlorophyll of any known plant, thus making it a powerful detoxifying agent, particularly in stimulating and regenerating the liver
  • It works on the body by cleansing and purifying and then, begins to build and strengthen your red and white blood cells, thus boosting the immune system.
  • It aids the body’s digestion and can suppress a person’s appetite

Who is it good for?

Wheatgrass is a wonderful addition to any person’s life.  Taking it on a regular basis will help to keep a person young, vibrant, energetic and full of health.

Wheatgrass is particularly good for those suffering from any kind of illness because it actively builds the body’s immune system.  When fighting a disease, it’s the immune system that’s most important.  Taken on a regular basis for a continued period of time, Wheatgrass has been found to be very successful in helping to reverse and ultimately eradicate cancer from the human body.  When a person is ill, Wheatgrass can be taken in higher doses to help the body to get the upper hand.

Sprouts – What are they?Sprout Snack

Sprouts are produced when seeds start growing into vegetables or grains.

How are they good for me?

  • As sprouts have the Highest Concentration of Nutrition per Calorie of Any Food, they are a fast and easy way to take in lots of goodness.
  • According to medical experts and nutritional researchers, sprouts come as close to being a “perfect food” as anything available. This is because they are in a form that our body’s can easily assimilate and because they are packed full of enzymes.
  • When a seed/ bean is sprouted, its nutrition is broken down into its simplest form – starches into simple sugars, proteins into amino acids and fats into essential fatty acids
  • There is no food on the planet higher in enzymes than sprouted seeds, beans and legumes.
  • Because sprouts are predigested food, they have a higher biological efficiency value then whole seeds, raw or cooked. Less food is required, yet more nutrients reach the blood and cells.
  • Sprouts have a regenerating effect on the human body because of their high concentration of RNA, DNA, protein and essential nutrients which can be found only in living cells. (Synthetic supplements are not life food.)
  • Sprouts are the most reliable year-round source of vitamin C, carotenoid A, and many B vitamins (such as folacin), all of which are usually in short supply in our diet.

The rejuvenating and life-giving properties of sprouts may be one of the great health secrets of our time
